2008 May and June Postal Exam Statistics

It has been a while since we last posted our postal exam statistics and to be quite honest, we didn’t realize how popular these stats were until we took some time off. To our regular readers who took the time to shoot us a message asking for the stats, we’d like to say thanks. We are going to do our best to make the stats a monthly posting on PostalExam.biz. As we have been saying all year, our website AceYourPostalExam.com has been experiencing record growth in 2008 which makes us feel very warm and fuzzy inside. We have attributed our growth largely to word of mouth references and a huge uptick in our search engine ranking. This alone is proof that the major search engines now consider AceYourPostalExam.com a legitimate company in the Postal Exam industry. Obviously at the end of the day, the people most responsible for the tremendous growth at AceYourPostalExam.com are our customers. Thank you for your business!

Pass your postal exam & get a $13,000 steak dinner?

I know what your thinking here. Not likely, right? Well it really happened for a few luckily USPS employees who probably at one time or another passed their postal test with flying colors.

If your anything like the gang here at AceYourPostalExam.com, then it will probably horrify you to know that your hard earned tax dollars are subsidizing these kind of extravagant events for American postal service employees. I hope they didn't spill any steak sauce on their postal uniform because I'm sure the cleaning bill would have been a USPS expense.

Perhaps a question on the postal exam should be: Does it make sense to spend thousands of tax payer dollars for a postal service party at the most expensive steak house in America? True or FALSE

Here is the story about the event written by Beth Kassab:

Heathrow-based Ruth's Chris Steakhouse has gotten a swarm of publicity in recent days. It's the restaurant mentioned in the same breath as a newly-released Government Accountability Office report that discovered rampant abuse of government credit cards.

It seems the Postal Service lived it up one night at Ruth's Chris, ordering thousands of dollars worth of steak, seafood and, of course, top-shelf liquor. While this all seems like bad news for the postal workers and other government agencies cited in the report for excessive charges on government credit cards, Ruth's Chris is coming out looking as exclusive as ever.

These [charges] included liquid expenses such as Courvoisier, Belvedere and Johnnie Walker Gold Label, according to the GAO report. "Ruth's Chris is a very fine restaurant, and at a fine restaurant, you find fine products," said Gerry McKiernan, spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service.

It turns out the postal folks were here in Orlando to attend a convention. Perhaps the GAO isn't familiar with common convention practices. Companies send employees here from all over the country to eat, drink, network and spend lots of money doing it. It's a key component of the business plans for many of the restaurants that make up "Restaurant Row" along Sand Lake Road near International Drive (the location of the Ruth's Chris in question).

Let's face it,the GAO could probably turn up a lot of things if it wanted to hang out in Orlando and Las Vegas during peak convention months. Of course, the GAO's beef is that the Postal Service spent public government money. Which includes stamps, countered Gregory Kutz, author of the GAO report. "For the most part, my stamps helped pay for the dinner," he said. "Every time you lick a stamp, think about Ruth's Chris."

Waiting to write your postal exam?

In the last few days we have received a handful of questions from our customers at AceYourPostalExam.com about the recently announced USPS hiring freeze. If you have been considering putting off studying for your postal exam because you've heard that the the postal service is not hiring postal carriers and other 460 & 470 positions, don't. As mentioned in the article below, Executive Vice President, Anthony Vegliante of the USPS has officially stated that the hiring freeze will only effect postal executives. The postal service is still hiring 460 and 470 positions.

Article taken from FederalTimes.com:

The U.S. Postal Service is freezing hiring at its headquarters and headquarters field units because of projected financial losses. Executive Vice President Anthony Vegliante announced the hiring freeze in a March 7 memo to postal executives.

Postal Service spokesman Gerry McKiernan said the freeze is directly related to rising expenses and expected financial losses in 2008. The Postal Service expects to lose $600 million in fiscal 2008, one year after it lost $5.1 billion.

Vegliante said the Postal Service will only consider hiring employees who are vital to continuing successful programs, raising new revenue, cutting costs or filling other critical needs. “We need to balance our investments in the programs and resources we manage with our challenging 2008 budget,” Vegliante said in the memo. The order does not affect hiring for bargaining unit positions.

Will a superstition help you pass your postal exam?

Self admittedly this blog post is going to sound a little on the wacky side but you'll have to be the judge.

AceYourPostalExam.com has for the last few months been selling very limited quantities of Official AceYourPostalExam.com Clothing and we have finally decided to launch our new postal related business with two great looking products. As you can see below, we are selling a heavy weight sweatshirt and high quality cotton long sleeve t-shirt both silk screened with a modern postal logo.

Time for the wacky part of this post.....

We have had many people write us to tell us they passed there postal exam with high marks by studying at AceYourPostalExam.com. This in itself is not a surprise, we get those kinds of letters all the time. The surprise is that 4 people in the last month wrote and passed their postal exam while wearing the AceYourPostalExam.com long sleeve t-shirt underneath their regualr shirt for good-luck.

Now we are not hugely superstitious bunch at AceYourPostalExam.com but hey if one of our t-shirts is helps a person pass their postal exam who are we to argue. Now here is the big question: For only $22 bucks can you afford not wear the shirt when you write your USPS postal test?

For well under $50.00 you can purchase a postal test package at AceYourPostalExam and own a LUCKY t-shirt that has been blessed by the postal gods! : )

Our partnership with Amazon.com will ensure your postal clothing is always in stock and shipped next-day. To order your shirt click on the image below.

Are you going to pass your Postal Exam and work for the USPS?

If you are considering employment with the USPS then this video is a must watch! The American Postal Workers Union (APWU) has recently launched a very important public awareness campaign about the USPS's plans to degrade the mail service by “consolidating” the mail processing and distribution network. If this plan is carried out by the postal service the effects could be disasterous for America's postal workers with hundreds of lay-offs and local mail sorting operation closures.

"Our nation’s postal workers want to let the American people know about this stealth attack on our nation’s mail service,” said William Burrus, President of the American Postal Workers Union. “This plan will mean serious disruptions to the mail stream, inconveniencing the citizens and small businesses who rely on timely mail service. Bills will be delivered late, checks will not arrive on time, and prescriptions delivered by mail will be delayed. "

Watch the video and do what you can to make your voice heard.

Dear AceYourPostalExam.com present and future customers,
